Brianna DeSeignora Named Recipient of Honan Sportsmanship Award

(Nashua, N.H.) - Daniel Webster College senior women's basketball player Briana DeSeignora of Medfield, Mass. has been chosen as the recipient of the 2008 Massachusetts State Representative Kevin G. Honan Sportsmanship Award.

The award, which is sponsored by Johnson & Papakyrikos CPA and Financial Planners of Boston, Mass., honors a student-athlete who through her actions demonstrates one or more of the ideals of sportsmanship including fairness, civility, honesty, unselfishness, respect and responsibility. The recipient is chosen by officials from the Honan Women's Basketball League based in the Brighton, Mass. area.

"We are extremely proud of Briana's honor," said Eagles women's basketball head coach Heather Jacobs. "The Honan League is a showcase for some of the very best collegiate women's basketball during the summer months and Briana's selection for this award is a great tribute to her character. She has exhibited herself as an outstanding role model among her peers."

DeSeignora is a three-year letter winner with the Eagles program, having averaged 7.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last season.

The Honan League celebrates its 21st season in 2008 with 28 teams and 300 participants.
