New England College Faces Plymouth State in NCAA Championship Opening Round

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - The NCAA released the field of 42 for the upcoming national tournament on Sunday evening. After claiming the NECC conference title over the weekend New England College is set to represent the conference on the national stage. Ten first-round games will be conducted Saturday, May 11 with the winners advancing to the second round. Sixteen second-round games will be conducted on Sunday, May 12 with the winners advancing to one of four regional sites Saturday and Sunday, May 18-19. Winners of the four regionals will advance to the semifinals and final, which take place Saturday and Sunday, May 25-26 at Day Field in Ashland, Virginia. 

The Pilgrims are set to face Plymouth State in the opening round at Tufts on Saturday, May 11th at 1:00 p.m. The winner will then square off with Tufts on Sunday. New England College enters the big dance at 14-5 while the Panthers sit at 11-5 after claiming the Little East championship title.
