Davanté Smith (Jr.), Southern Vermont College
Junior Davanté Smith was first across the line for Southern Vermont at the nationally-ranked Middlebury College’s annual Aldrich Invitational. He completed the 8k course in 30:47, in a race that included competition from Division I, II and III.
Rookie of the Week
Mark Garceau (Fr.), Mitchell College
Freshman Mark Garceau (Lebanon, N.J.) turned in a strong outing at the season opening Mitchell Invitational last week, an event that featured five NECC schools. He finished 12th overall, in a field of 51 runners, turning in a time of 17:54.0 for the 5K course. His time was the fastest of any conference rookie in the field.
