KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The United Soccer Coaches announced today that Nighthawks junior Andrew Kalombo (Worcester, Mass.) has been named to the USC NCAA Division III Men's Scholar All-East Region Third Team. The designation is the first of any kind for men's soccer by the USC.
Kalombo, who studies Sports Management at Newbury, is one of four juniors to make the All-East Scholar Team.
Coming off a career season, Kalombo was named the 2018 New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Year and a First-Team All-NECC Selection on defense. Kalombo was an instrumental part of a backline that helped hold opponents to under a half-goal per game in conference.
Kalombo started all 20 games for the Nighthawks, recording a career-high two goals, one assist, and five points.
His contributions defensively helped the Nighthawks win the NECC Championship and qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the first time in Nighthawks program history.
The USC is the largest soccer coaches' organization in the world and has operated for over 75 years at all level of the game.
