Becker Earns Top Seed and Will Host NECC Men's Basketball Tournament

Following an undefeated regular season, Becker College has secured the top seed in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Championship. The Hawks (21-4 overall, 16-0 NECC) earned a first round bye along with second seed Elms College (16-9, 11-5 NECC).

Becker will host the semifinals and finals begining Friday, February 24.

Wheelock College earned the third seed, finishing the season 12-13 overall,10-6 NECC. The Wildcats will host sixth seed Regis College (10-15, 7-9 NECC) in a first round match-up Tuesday. The winner will meet second seed Elms in a semifinal contest on Friday.

Fifth seed Newbury College (11-14, 8-8 NECC) will travel to fourth seed Daniel Webster College (9-15, 8-8 NECC). The winner will play top seed Becker in a semifinal contest on Friday.

The top six teams qualify for the NECC Championship. Predetermined tiebreaking procedures were used to seed teams with identical conference winning percentages.

First round games will be played on Tuesday, February 21 at the higher seed. Winners will advance to the semifinals on Friday, February 24. Semifinal winners will meet Saturday, February 25 at Becker College.
