LEICESTER, Mass. --- Junior defender Amy Grenier (Westminster, Mass. / Oakmont Regional) scored a career-high four goals as the Becker College field hockey team defeated visiting Bay Path College, 4-0, in NECC play on Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field in Leicester.
The Hawks of Becker (2-10 / 2-1 NECC) got off to a great start when Grenier scored in the sixth minute off a corner from freshman midfielder Amy Cooper (Monument, Colo. / Lewis Palmer) to put the Hawks ahead 1-0.
The Wildcats of Bay Path (0-7 / 0-3 NECC) had their best chance to score just before the break when they had back-to-back shots on goal in rapid succession. But the Hawks turned both shots away, and the 1-0 score would hold up for the remainder of the first period.
The hosts would score again ten minutes into the second half, as Grenier took off on a breakaway for her second goal of the game, then added two more in the 52nd and 54th minutes respectively.
