ORLANDO, Fla. – Elms College junior cross country runner Jennifer Cicero (Chicopee, Mass.) completed her first-ever marathon – the Walt Disney World Marathon – on Sunday, Jan. 9.

Kupfer and Miller Earn Women's Cross Country Weekly Awards
ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Lesley University sophomore Noa Kupfer (Woodbridge, Conn.) repeated as women's champion with a time of 20:19 and was named NECC Runner of the Year for the second time in her career. Kupfer and the Lynx dominated the women’s 5K taking their third straight title with a perfect score of 15 points.

ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Wheelock College junior Maria Sideri (North Andover, Mass.) ran the 5K Wellesley Invitational in 23:36 for the Wildcats. Sideri placed 18th, while leading Wheelock to a 3rd place team finish with 75 points.

Newbury Sweeps Women's Cross Country Weekly Awards
ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Newbury College sophomore Solange Thomas (Webster, Mass.) ran the 5K Emmanuel Saints Invitational in 22:46 for the Nighthawks. Thomas placed 48th, while leading Newbury to a 13th place team finish with 395 points.

Trajkovski Named Rookie of the Week for Women's Cross Country
ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Bay Path College freshman Katrina Trajkovski (Wilbraham, Mass.) notched her best collegiate time shaving almost a minute off of last week’s performance at the St. Joseph Invitational crossing the line at 26:55.93 in the 14th Annual James Earley Invitational at Stanley Park hosted by Westfield State University. Trajkovski was the first Wildcat harrier to finish reaching the end of the chute in 269th place out of 311 runners. Bay Path finished 31st with a 971 team score.

Lesley Runs Away with Women's Cross Country Weekly Accolades
ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Lesley University sophomore Noa Kupfer (Woodbridge, Conn.) led the Lynx to their best ever Pop Crowell Invitational finish at 8th out of 26 teams with 199 points. Kupfer was the top NECC harrier to break through the chute with a 19:55 time for a 15th place finish. She beat the next non-Lynx NECC runner by two minutes and 33 seconds at the race in Wenham, Mass which was hosted by Gordon College.

ATTLEBORO, Mass.- Newbury College sophomore Solange Thomas (Webster, Mass.) placed 17th at the Blazers Invitational with a 5K time of 21:46 this past week. Thomas was the first NECC harrier to cross the finish-line breaking her personal course record.

The Elms College Athletics Department Launches Its Shoe-In Campaign
CHICOPEE, Mass.-The Elms College Athletics Department, in conjunction with Campus Ministry and Admissions, will launch its Shoe-In campaign that recycles reusable shoes. The event will take place from Wednesday, September 22-29 with shoe recycling bins set up in the Maguire Center lobby, the Mary Dooley Center, at the Admissions open house (September 26) and at Chicopee Memorial State Park (September 25). All types of reusable shoes except winter boots are eligible for donation.

Lesley Tabbed Preseason Favorite in NECC Womens Cross Country Poll
ATTLEBORO, Mass. Lesley University has once again been tabbed as the preseason favorite to capture the New England Collegiate Conference womens cross country championship, it was announced today by Commissioner Del Malloy. Voting for the preseason poll was conducted among the NECCs head womens cross country coaches.
