Daniel Webster Picked to Win NECC Women's Volleyball Title in Preseason Poll

Daniel Webster College has been chosen the preseason favorite to win the NECC women's volleyball title in a vote conducted by the league's coaches. The Eagles, who return five starters from a team that went a perfect 7-0 in conference play, received four first place votes and 72 points.

First team all-conference selections senior setter Cait DePierro and junior middle blocker Chelsey Crawford return to lead Daniel Webster.

Southern Vermont placed second receiving 69 points and three first place votes. An incoming class of nine junior college transfers and three freshman will team up along side all-conference first team performers Joanna Hogue and Hershey Canta to lead the Mountaineers.

Defending champion Lesley was the third choice with 61 points and one first place vote. The Lynx will be led by 2010 NECC Player of the Year Amanda McCracken, who led the league in hitting percentage (.420) and kills per set(4.37).
