Miller and Fuller Earn Women's Volleyball Weekly Awards
PLAYER OF THE WEEK — Lesley University sophomore setter Kaitlyn Miller (Leesport, Penn.) led the Lynx to a 3-1 week earning the #2 seed and bye in the first round of the 2010 NECC Women’s Volleyball Championships. Miller tallied a sizzling 119 assists (9.9 per set) for the week. She put up 43 assists in a tough 3-1 loss to Lasell and 33 assists in a 3-0 win over Southern Vermont. For the week, Miller had 12 service aces (0.92 per set), 14 digs (1.07 per set) and two blocks (0.15 per set).
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK — For the second week, Elms College freshman setter Ashley Fuller (Amherst, Mass.) earned NECC women’s volleyball rookie honors. She averaged 6.90 assists per set in a 1-2 week for the Blazers. They defeated Southern Vermont 3-2 while falling to Pine Manor 3-1 and NECC rival Lesley 3-0. She tallied 69 assists for the week. Fuller had two kills (0.20 per set), one service ace (0.13 per set), 34 digs (3.40 per set) and three blocks (0.30 per set).
