DiPierro, McCracken and Touron Share Weekly Volleyball Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK — Daniel Webster College junior setter Caitlyn DePierro (Billerica, Mass.) topped the Eagles to a 4-0 week, going 2-0 in NECC play by defeating Newbury 3-0 and Elms 3-0. DiPierro helped guide the Eagles by hitting an all-time program record.372 against Pine Manor. She tallied 115 assists (8.85 per set) for 310 attempts for a .371 percentage. For the week DePierro hit .278 with eight aces (0.62 per set), 24 digs (1.85 per set).

 

 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK — Lesley University sophomore middle hitter Amanda McCracken (Eldersburg, Md.) had a stellar performance at the MCLA and Salem State Tri-Match crushing a career-high 31 kills, five digs and five blocks in a 3-2 victory over MCLA. The Lynx went 4-0 on the week, defeating Pine Manor (3-1), Anna Maria (3-1) and Salem State (3-0). McCracken posted a sizzling .500 hitting percentage with 80 kills (5.0 per set). For the week, she tallied 12 service aces (0.75 per set), 20 digs (1.25 per set) and 20 blocks (1.25 per set).

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK — Newbury College freshman outside hitter Jessy Touron (Brockton, Mass.) helped the Nighthawks to a 2-1 week, defeating non-conference foe Curry 3-0 and NECC opponent Elms 3-1, while falling to NECC rival Daniel Webster 3-0. Touron tallied 20 kills. For the week, she had six aces and six blocks.
