Marek and Croteau Grab NECC Women's Volleyball Honors
PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Lesley junior middle blocker Lindsey Marek (Killingworth, Conn.) launched her team to a 3-0 record, notching their first wins on the season. Marek notched an amazing .524 attack percentage with 24 kills, 21 digs, 15 block solos and six service aces over nine sets. The Lynx defeated NECC opponents Newbury, Bay Path and Mitchell all 3-0. Marek averaged 2.7 kills per set, 0.67 aces per set, 2.3 digs per set and 1.7 blocks per set.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Elms freshman middle hitter Stacy Croteau (Agawam, Mass.) helped her team to a 2-0 weekly record along with an undefeated NECC record en route to a career high 10 kills against the Wildcats. The Blazers defeated conference opponents Bay Path and Becker in six straight sets. For the week, Croteau hit an incredible .581 chipping in 19 kills, seven digs, two aces and two blocks. She averaged 3.17 kills per set and 1.17 digs per set.
