Pinak and Croteau Nab Volleyball Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Becker College senior middle blocker Rachel Pinak (Cheektowaga, N.Y.) came up big on both sides of the net as the Hawks defeated Mitchell and Newbury.  Pinak posted back-to-back double-doubles, recording 21 kills and 13 digs in a five-set win over Mitchell, and adding 13 kills and 14 digs in a three-set sweep of Newbury.  For the week, Pinak averaged 3.63 kills and 3.18 digs per set.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Elms College freshman middle hitter Stacy Croteau (Agawam, Mass.) led the Blazers to back-to-back conference victories over Lesley and Southern Vermont.  She posted a 13-kill, 11-dig double-double in a four-set win over Lesley, and added an eight-kill effort in a three-set sweep of SVC. Croteau's play paced the Blazers as they concluded regular-season NECC play with a 6-1 mark -- and an opening-round bye -- in the upcoming NECC Tournament.
