ATTLEBORO, Mass-Bay Path senior Julia Bendzin (Poetsenkill, N.Y.) had a stellar week for the Wildcats highlighted by earning 2009 NECC Womens Tennis Player of the Year honors. Bendzin played two matches and made her way through the flighted championships this week. In their one finished match of the week, Bendzin won both #1singles and #1 doubles with partner Kara Fox in a 6-3 victory over NECC opponent Newbury. In the flighted Championships, Bendzin continued her undefeated streak taking the #1 singles title in a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Beckers Megan Nessen in the finals.

ENFIELD, Conn. Four out of the five New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) womens tennis programs headed into the finals matches today with the Bay Path College Wildcats, the Becker College Hawks and the Newbury College Nighthawks coming away with top honors from their student-athletes. NECC medallions were awarded to all six singles flights and all three doubles flights champions.

The championship is an individual flighted tournament that is based upon student-athletes singles and doubles conference records. Players are seeded as individual players and seeds are not based on a teams finish.
