Costa and Flanagan Take Final NECC Player and Rookie of the Week Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Bay Path College junior Sarah Costa (Tiverton, R.I.) worked her way through the 2010 NECC Women's Tennis Tournament prevailing in both the #1 doubles flight and the #2 singles flight. Costa, along with partner senior Lauren Hangasky, upset Becker #1 seed junior Shauna McNally and her partner senior Danielle Stryker 8-5. #1 seed Costa defeated Lesley #2 seed Michelle Side 6-2, 6-3.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK –Mitchell College freshman Mackenzie Flanagan (San Anselmo, Calif.) led the Mariners to a 9-0 victory over Albertus Magnus. Flanagan went 2-1 in #1 singles action and 1-1 in #1 doubles action including a tough loss in the finals of the #1 flight 1-6, 7-5, 6-2 to Megan Nessen.
