BAY PATH AND BECKER SHARE NECC WOMEN’S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE
Wildcats Host 2010 NECC Women’s Tennis Tournament
ATTLEBORO, Mass. — Bay Path College and Becker College share
a piece of the 2010 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC)
Women’s Tennis Title after finishing tied 7-1 in conference.
Bay Path went 10-1 during the regular season play, while Becker is
11-4 overall.
The Wildcats are coached by Steve
Morneau while the Hawks are coached by David
Bostick. Both Bay Path and Becker split during the regular
season. Becker won 6-3 on September 18th, while
Bay Path took the October 2nd match 6-3.
Coming in third were the Lynx of Lesley University with a 4-4 NECC record and 5-4 overall. Fourth place went to the Nighthawks of Newbury College finishing 2-6 in conference play and 4-9 in the 2010 campaign. Rounding out the placement was the Mitchell College Mariners with a 1-12 season record and 0-8 in conference play.
The 2010 New England Collegiate Conference Women’s Tennis Championship Tournament will be an individual flighted tournament that is based upon student-athletes’ singles and doubles conference records. Players are seeded as individual players and seeds are not based on a team’s finish.
Championship play 
will begin this weekend on Saturday, October 16th at the
Enfield Tennis Club in Enfield, Connecticut hosted by Bay Path.
Semi-finals doubles action will begin at 4:45 p.m. The semi-finals
singles flights will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The
championships will conclude on Sunday, October 17th with
the finals brackets. Trophies will be awarded to all six singles
flights’ and all three doubles flights’ winners.
