Bendzin and Costa Take Final Women's Tennis Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Bay Path junior Julia Bendzin (Poestenkill, N.Y.) helped her team to their first NECC Championship title. Bendzin went 4-0 on the week beating her #2 opponents in both the St. Joseph and Becker match earlier last week 6-0, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-4. Bendzin would go on to become the #2 NECC Women's Tennis Flight Champion defeating #4 seeded Lauren Rowley of Mitchell 6-1, 6-1 in the semifinals and #2 seeded Catherine Sivret of Becker 6-3, 6-3 for the trophy.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK- Bay Path freshman Sarah Costa (Tiverton, R.I.) finished her first year campaign staying undefeated amongst all NECC opponents. She won 6-0, 6-0 against  St. Joseph's Darcy Crimi and 6-4, 6-1 against Becker's Danielle Stryker in the Wildcats final regular season play which was the deciding match that gave Bay Path the title. Costa then went on to dominate the #4 singles flight in NECC Women's Tennis Championships taking home the title.
