Bay Path Wildcats' Bendzin and Costa Nab NECC Women's Tennis Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK- Bay Path College junior Julia Bendzin (Poestenkill, N.Y.) led her team to another 3-0 week pushing the Wildcats to a 7-1 overall record. The Wildcats defeated conference opponent Becker, slated the NECC pre-season favorite, 5-4 along with beating Johnson State 7-2 and Russell Sage 5-4. Bendzin went undefeated in singles action for the week including playing out of position in the #1 and #2 spots. She went 2-1 in doubles action winning both #2 matches with opponent Kara Fox.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK- Bay Path College freshman Sarah Costa (Tiverton, R.I.), two-time NECC Rookie-of-the-Week, still tops the NECC in doubles action with an undefeated record at the #3 spot with partner Cristina Ruiz. Again, Bay Path went 3-0 for the week. Costa was undefeated in both singles and doubles action. She easily shut-down her opponents at #4, #2 and #3 singles play 6-1, 6-2; 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0 respectively.
