#7 Lesley Lynx Defeated by #2 Keene State in ECAC Women's Soccer First Round

KEENE, N.H. – In their first ever postseason appearance, the Lesley University women’s soccer team lost to Keene State College 5-0 in the Quarterfinals of the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Tournament. The Lynx end their 2009 season with a record of 15-5-1 (8-0 NECC), one win shy of their program best 16 wins in 2008.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Jodi Fralick (WOBURN, Mass./Woburn) scored two goals and the #1 Lesley University (15-4-1, 8-0 NECC) backfield limited their opponents to just four shots as the Lynx captured the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women’s soccer championship with a 3-1 victory over #3 Mitchell College (8-11, 6-2 NECC). For Lesley, it was their first conference championship in program history.

In addition to the All-NECC honors, four separate major individual award winners and the team sportsmanship award were also voted upon and selected this week.

The #3 Mitchell College Mariners upset the #2 Elms College Blazers, the NECC reigning champions, 3-2 tonight at Leary Field in the 2009 Women's Soccer Championship semifinals.

NEW LONDON, Conn. & LEICESTER, Mass.- The #3 seed Mitchell College advanced past #6 seed Daniel Webster College by a 5-3 final on Tuesday. While, #4 seed Becker College defeated #5 seed Newbury College 4-0 in quarterfinals of the 2009 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC)Women’s Soccer Championship.
