Lowe and O'Connell Nab NECC Women's Basketball Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Lesley University senior center Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.) was the driving force behind the two wins over NECC opponents' Mitchell and Newbury. Lowe had a stellar double double performance against the Mariners with 18 points and 10 rebounds and came back to score 20 against the Nighthawks. She averaged 19.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 2.0 steals for the week. For her two NECC wins, Lowe shot 55% (17-for-31) from the field, 33% (1-for-3) from behind the arc and 100% (3-for-3) from the charity stripe.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Newbury College freshman center Catherine O'Connell (Quincy, Mass.) guided the Nighthawks to a 2-1 week defeating NECC foes Becker (76-74) and Southern Vermont (72-55) and falling to Lesley (78-55).  She tallied three double doubles for the week finishing with 40 points and 46 rebounds. She averaged 13.3 points, 15.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, a stellar 3.6 blocks and 1.6 steals for the three game series.  For the week, she shot 37% (16-for-43) from the field and 53% (8-for-15) from the line.
