O'Connell Takes Both Player and Rookie Honors for the Week

PLAYER AND ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Newbury College freshman center Catherine O'Connell (Quincy, Mass.) had a stellar week, earning both player and rookie honors. O'Connell produced two double-double performances in a 1-1 week for the Nighthawks. She tied her career game-high with 19 boards in a 62-61 victory over Rivier and broke it with 23 rebounds in a close 73-68 loss to top seeded Daniel Webster College. O'Connell averaged 18.5 points, 21.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 2.0 steals for the week. For the two game series, she shot 59% (16-for-27) from the field and 42% (5-for-12) from the charity stripe.
