Bosques Named to 2009-10 ECAC Division III New England Women's Basketball All Stars

CAPE COD, Mass.- Sophomore guard Vanessa Bosques of North Windham, Conn. has been named to the 2009-10 ECAC Division III New England Women's Basketball All Stars Third team.

Bosques was the 2009-10 New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Year.Further, Bosques's Player award is the first for a female in the history of Daniel Webster athletics. She becomes just the second ever conference player of the year at the College in any sport, joining Chris Shanahan, who was the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Year in baseball in 2006.

Bosques is  a sport management major. In conference play, Bosques averaged 16.9 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game, 2.3 assists per game and 2.1 steals per game. She was the NECC leading scorer throughout conference play. Bosques is 14^th in rebounding, 11^th in field goal percentage (.435), first in free-throw percentage (.978), 12^th in steals, third in three-point field goal percentage (.395), 2^nd in three-point field goals made (2.8 ppg) and seventh in blocked shots (0.6 bpg).

Overall, she averaged 17.1 points per game, which tops the NECC, and ranks 15^th overall in boards with 6.0 rebounds per game. Bosques broke the Eagles' single season all-time three-point shooting record.
