Krolikowski, Hampton and Buckley Earn Weekly Softball Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Mitchell College senior catcher Sara Krolikowski (Bristol, Conn.) was stellar behind the plate for the Mariners posting a perfect fielding percentage and not committing one error in 55 chances in a 7-1 week for her team. Krolikowski batted .500 (12-for-24), slugged .583 and had a .536 on-base percentage while having three multiple hit games. She racked up 12 hits, ten RBI and five runs with two double shots. In a 10-1 victory over Johnson & Wales, Krolikowski went 4-for-4 with a double and three RBI.

 

  

PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Elms College sophomore Courtney Hampton (Westfield, Mass.) was a winner each time she stepped into the circle for the Blazers notching four wins. Elms finished the week 6-0 sweeping three NECC opponents’ Bay Path (6-1, 12-1), Daniel Webster (10-8, 10-2) and Southern Vermont (10-1, 10-2). She hurled 24 innings giving up 11 runs, nine earned, on 27 hits.  Hampton fanned 18 and walked six batters. She finished the week with a 3.38 ERA.

 

  

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Elms College freshman designated player/infielder Sarah Buckley (Wilbraham, Mass.) batted .550 (11-for-20) with 12 RBI, nine runs,  two triples and a double helping the Blazers to a 6-0 weekly conference record. She posted four multiple hit games in a weekly sweep of Bay Path (6-1, 12-1), Daniel Webster (10-8, 10-2) and Southern Vermont (10-1, 10-2). She finished with a solid .800 slugging percentage and a .625 on-base percentage including going 3-for-3 in stolen bases.
