Hoffman and Casiglio Awarded NECC Weekly Men's Cross Country Honors
ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Mitchell College senior John Hoffman (Bala Cynwyd, Pa.) finished as runner-up for the second consecutive year with a time of 28:05. Mitchell finished as runner-up in the 2010 NECC Men’s Cross Country Championship 8K with 47 points.

NEW LONDON, Conn.—The New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Mitchell College at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford this Saturday, October 30th beginning with the women’s 5K race at 11:00 a.m.

Hoffman and Morgan Each Earn Weekly Cross Country Accolades
ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Mitchell College senior John Hoffman (Bala Cynwyd, Penn.) recorded his season best 8K time at the Connecticut College Invite, crossing the line in 128th place with a 28:11 time. He chopped 20 seconds off his season-best time in a field of NCAA Division I, II and III harriers. The Mariners placed 18th with 566 points.

Maliff and Casiglio Earn NECC Weekly Awards for Cross Country
ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Newbury College junior Ryan Maliff (Ashfield, Mass.) broke a personal best time crossing the line at 30:44 in the 8K Pop Crowell Invitational in Wenham, Mass hosted by Gordon College. Maliff finished in 133rd place breaking the 31 minute mark for the first time.

ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Mitchell College senior John Hoffman (Bala Cynwyd, Penn.) led Mitchell at the Wesleyan Invitational with a top 20 finish crossing the line 15th with an 8K time of 28:31:38. The Mariners placed 5th out of six squads with a 139 team score.

Maliff and Casiglio Earn NECC Weekly Awards for Cross Country
ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Newbury College junior Ryan Maliff (Ashfield, Mass.) came in fourth with an 8K time 37:07 at the Daniel Webster Eagle Invitational. Maliff pushed his way to the top five in the last two-miles of the course coming from ninth place.

The Elms College Athletics Department Launches Its Shoe-In Campaign
CHICOPEE, Mass.-The Elms College Athletics Department, in conjunction with Campus Ministry and Admissions, will launch its Shoe-In campaign that recycles reusable shoes. The event will take place from Wednesday, September 22-29 with shoe recycling bins set up in the Maguire Center lobby, the Mary Dooley Center, at the Admissions open house (September 26) and at Chicopee Memorial State Park (September 25). All types of reusable shoes except winter boots are eligible for donation.

Maliff and Mckey Grab Harrier Weekly Awards
ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Newbury College junior Ryan Maliff (Ashfield, Mass.) ran a personal best of 31:10 for a regulation 8K at the Fuller Invitational hosted by Mass. Maritime. He placed 44th out of 87 harriers. The Nighthawks did not have a team score out of the nine schools who participated.

Nighthawks Take First Men's Cross Country Honors
ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Newbury College sophomore Jarryl Mckey (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was awarded the first NECC Runner of the Week honors for 2010. McKey crossed the line in 40th place with a 6K time of 27:55. This was Mckey’s first cross country race.
