Siller, Olson and Chase Named NECC Runners of the Week

RUNNER OF THE WEEK - For the third consecutive week, Newbury senior Herrel Siller (Palo Alto, Cal.) was honored after a first place finish at the Blazers' Invitational. Siller grabbed the gold with an 8k time of 27:45. Newbury took third as a team, first NECC team, with 63 points at the Chicopee Memorial State Park hosted by Elms.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - For the third consecutive week, Daniel Webster freshman Brad Olson (Beverly, Mass.) garners NECC rookie honors. He clocked a 30:54 time over an 8K to help his team place to a top finish out of six teams (35 points). Olson finished 7th out of 44 harriers in a tough 8,000 meter event.

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Southern Vermont freshman Seth Chase (Winchester, N.H.) garners the Mountaineers first NECC cross country honors after a 9th place finish (amongst attached runners) out of 59 runners at the 2008 Mountaineers Invitational with a time of 31:15.62. He was the first NECC harrier across the finish line and helped his team to a 4th place finish with 123 points against seven schools.
