All-NECC Men’s Tennis Teams Announced with Carmona, Devona and Morrissey Taking Top Honors

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - Four of the five New England Collegiate Conference men’s tennis programs were represented on the 2010 All-NECC Men’s Tennis Team and NECC major awards, announced today by Commissioner Del Malloy. Mitchell College sophomore Kyle Carmona (Norwich, Conn.) received top honors, as he was named NECC Player of the Year. Carmona, two-time Player of the Year, graduated from Norwich Free Academy. He is majoring in Psychology. Carmona finished regular season play with a perfect 9-0 singles record in the NECC and 9-0 in conference doubles action. He finished the year with a perfect 8-0 #1 singles record and 8-0 #1 doubles record in conference.

ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Mitchell College sophomore Kyle Carmona (Norwich, Conn.) helped the Mariners finish the season undefeated and win its second straight New England Collegiate Conference title. Carmona and the Mariners went 3-0 on the week defeating Becker (8-1), Newbury (9-0) and Wheelock (9-0). While pairing with rookie winner Rocco Devona, the tandem grabbed three doubles wins 8-3, 8-1 and 8-1 respectively at the #1 position. Carmona defeated Becker’s Charles Heard 6-2, 6-1, Newbury’s Nicholas Sehovich 6-0, 6-1 and Wheelock’s Wilson Chang 6-0, 6-0.
