Carmona Named Final Men's Tennis Player of the Week

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Mitchell College junior Kyle Carmona (Norwich, Conn.) led the Mariners to a 3-0 finish including defeating Lesley 9-1 to garner a piece of the 2011 NECC Men's Tennis Championship title.  Carmona had a very busy week going 3-0 in #1 singles and 3-0 in #1 doubles in the final regular season conference matches including a 7-2 win over Becker, 9-0 sweep of Wheelock and 9-1 victory over Lesley. Carmona also notched the #1 singles and #1 doubles champions' titles winning both in this weekend's 2011 NECC Men's Tennis Flighted Championships. For the week, Carmona won ten matches. Carmona was also named the 2011 NECC Player of the Year for the third straight time.
