Southern Vermont College Mountaineer forward Nick Haggerty was named to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference 2009 Division III New England Men's Soccer All-Star First Team Wednesday. Haggerty, a sophomore criminal justice major, tallied 41 points and helped lead SVC to the NECC Semifinals.

Three days after going overtime to topple Lesley University for their first ever NECC title, the Eagles made more hearts skip a few beats Wednesday, needing four overtimes and then resorting to a sudden death penalty kick in order to upset and oust third-seeded and ECAC tourney veteran Plymouth State in the quarterfinals of the New England championship tournament.
