NECC 2011 Men's Soccer All-Conference Teams Announced
Newbury College junior midfielder Shaundize Moosavizadeh was selected the 2011 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men's Soccer Player of the Year in a vote of the league's coaches. Moosavizadeh scored eight goals with two assists in eight conference games.
Daniel Webster College goalkeeper Joe Keene was honored as the conference Goalkeeper of the Year. The senior made 43 saves and allowed only three goals over six league contests for a 0.48 goals against average.
Southern Vermont College first-year midfielder Erik Argueta was selected as the NECC Rookie of the Year. Argueta scored three goals with one assist in seven conference games from the midfield.
Southern Vermont head coach Tim Penrod was honored by his peers as the league's top coach after guiding the Mountaineers to an 6-0-1 mark in conference play this season.
Wheelock College garnered the league's Sportsmanship Award.
NECC all-conference selections are determined by a vote of the conference coaches.
