Deltgen and Sullivan Named Soccer Players of the Week

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Mitchell senior defender Adam Deltgen (Norwich, Conn.) played the lead role in a 2-0 weekly record for the Mariners. Deltgen has been pivotal in Mitchell's 4-0 NECC record. His senior leadership in the backfield has helped the Mariners shut-down Daniel Webster 2-0 and overcome Lesley 4-3 in a tough battle. Despite leading the defense, Deltgen provided an assist on Mitchell's first goal against Lesley.

 

 

 

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK -Elms freshman goalkeeper Ryan Sullivan (Agawam, Mass) stepped-up for the Blazers helping them to a 2-1 victory against NECC opponent Newbury. Sullivan turned aside nine shots, including a penalty kick in the 34th minute of play, to help the Blazers to their first conference win of the 2008 season. He saw 24 shots and only gave up one on goal. For the year he has registered 1.93 goals against average and a .739 save percentage.
