Lohr, Eschler and Haggerty Named Men's Soccer Players of the Week
PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Daniel Webster senior midfielder Mike Lohr (Chepachet, R.I.) played the lead role in a 2-0 weekly record for the Eagles. Lohr scored safely in both contests including the first goal and eventual game winner against Regis in a 2-0 shut-out, while netting the game winner against Suffolk in a 2-1 win. He pushed his team towards a .500 season record now 3-3 and a three game winning streak.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Southern Vermont sophomore goal keeper Aaron Eschler (Gloversville, N.Y.) was the key factor in a loss free week going 1-0-1. Eschler allowed no goals against the Mountaineers in his 200 minutes of play. He had 20 saves while facing 29 shots 20 of which were on goal. The Mountaineers tied Bard 0-0 in double overtime action and defeated NECC foe Elms 1-0 in their first conference match of the year.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK -Freshman Mountaineer forward Nick Haggerty (Wynantskill, N.Y.) contributed to a conference victory over Elms 1-0. Haggerty netted the unassisted game winning goal against Elms in the 76th minute of play. Southern Vermont tied Bard 0-0 in double overtime action and defeated NECC foe Elms 1-0 in their first conference win of the year.
