Blancaflor and Bernard Honored as NECC Player and Rookie of the Week

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Mitchell sophomore forward Joel Blancaflor (Haddam, Conn.) played the lead role in a 2-1 weekly record for the Mariners. Blancaflor netted two goals on the week for four points including the game winner in a tough battle against conference opponent Newbury. They defeated Emmanuel 3-2 and Newbury 4-3 while falling to Salve Regina in a close match 2-1.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK -Freshman Eagle forward Spencer Bernard (Windsor Locks, Conn.) contributed to a conference victory over Elms 3-0. Bernard registered a hat trick in the first 29 minutes of a 5-1 victory against Fisher, while netting the only goal in a tough regional loss against Mt. Ida 3-1. He tallied eight points on the 2-1 week for Daniel Webster.
