Babson Wins 2011 NECC Men’s Golf Championship; Elms Finishes Second
Babson College senior captain Joe Young (Westwood, Mass.) outdueled junior teammate Wesley Tryhane (Stamford, Conn.) in a two-hole playoff to earn Golfer of the Year honors as the duo helped the Beavers claim the 2011 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Men's Golf Championship at D.W. Field Golf Course on Sunday.

2011 NECC Golf Championship Tees Off Saturday
All seven NECC golf teams will tee off Saturday, October 8 at D.W. Field Golf Club in the city of Brockton, the site of this weekend’s 2011 NECC Golf Championship hosted by Babson College. Golfers will start off the first tee on Saturday morning at 11:00am and on Sunday morning at 11:30am.

Babson Leads First Round at the 2011 NECC Men's Golf Championship
The Babson College men's golf team shot a season-low nine-over par 289 to take a nine-shot lead after the first day of the 2011 NECC Golf Championship at D.W. Field Golf Club in Brockton this afternoon. Elms College is nine shots back after shooting a 298, and Springfield College at 304, is 15 shots back. A total of 13 players carded sub-80 rounds on a picture-perfect fall afternoon on the 6,042 yard, par 70 course.

Elms tops field including four NECC members to win Blazers Invitational
Elms College sophomore Henry Fall (Harpswell, Maine) earned individual medalist honors with a two-over-par 74 and the Blazers’ Green team shot 310 as a team to win Wednesday’s Blazers men’s golf invitational at Westover Golf Course in Granby, Mass.

Elms Favored to Defend NECC Men's Golf Title
Elms College was chosen as the preseason favorite to win the NECC men's golf title in a vote of the conference coaches. The Blazers, who lost just one golfer from last season's NECC Championship team, received 39 points and four first place votes. Elms will be led by returning first team all-conference selections junior Phil Rurak and sophomore Kyle Simard.
