Mitchell to Host the 2009 NECC Men's Golf Championships
NEW LONDON, Conn.--Mitchell College will host the 2009 New England Collegiate Conference Men's Golf Championships this weekend Saturday, October 10th thru Sunday, October 11th at the Shennecossett Golf Course.
The 36-hole event will take place at Shennecossett Golf Course in Groton, CT. It is a par 71, 6,562-yard course that was designed by Donald Ross. We're scheduled for a 7:45 a.m. shotgun start on Saturday. On Sunday the groups will all tee off on the first hole beginning at noon.
Their are seven NECC golf programs including full members'
Becker College, Daniel Webster College, Elms College,
Mitchell College and Newbury College; along with associate
members' Springfield College and new comer Babson College.
On Saturday the format will begin with a Shot Gun start
utilizing the #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #8 and #9 holes. Teams will
be grouped by threesomes and foursomes via alphabetical order
as per the NECC Golf Guidelines.

b. Hole #8 - Elms, Mitchell, Newbury, Springfield #1's-Followed by
Babson, Becker & DWC #2's
c. Hole #7 - Elms, Mitchell, Newbury, Springfield #2's
d. Hole #6 - Babson, Becker & DWC #3's- Followed by Elms,
Mitchell, Newbury, Springfield #3's
e. Hole #5 - Babson, Becker, & DWC #4's- Followed by Elms,
Mitchell, Newbury, Springfield #4's
f. Hole #4 - Babson, Becker, & DWC #5's
g. Hole #3 - Elms, Mitchell, Newbury, Springfield #5's
All results and recaps will be released after each round is completed. Day two's pairings will be released after the conclusion of day one's results. The top three team scores will be awarded the threesomes. The teams will tee off on Sunday at noon from hole #1.
