Levings, Swenson and Lepore Named Weekly Duffers

GOLFER OF THE WEEK - Springfield senior Greg Levings (Averill Park, N.Y.), three- time honoree, took home medalist honors at the 2008 NECC Championships. For this he was named the first ever NECC Golfer of the Year. He shot a two-day tally of 149 (76-73) to help lead his team to the championship title.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - MIT freshman Nick Swenson (Yorktown, Va.) was honored as first-time NECC Rookie of the Week for his performance at the 2008 NECC Championships. Swenson shot a 36-hole total of 158. He shot an 82 on day one and came back to shoot five over-par at 76 for the final round. For this low score, Swenson was honored as the 2008 NECC Rookie of the Year.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Mitchell freshman Mike Lepore (Centerville, Mass.), two-time honoree, led his team in two tournaments this week including the 2008 NECC Championships. Earlier last week, he finished tied for 7th at the Bison Invitational helping his team to a 6th place out of nine teams with an 81 total. In the NECC's, Lepore finished tied for 3rd place overall pushing his team to their incredible 2008 NECC Runners-Up Title. For his efforts he was named to the 2008 NECC Golf First Team All-Conference for shooting a 158 (77-810.
