Pineres Takes Weekly Golf Honors

ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Babson College senior Fernando Pineres (Cartagena, Columbia) topped the Beavers shooting 153 at the NEIGA Golf Championships this past week. Pineres tied for 28th out of 191 duffers with a first round 75 and a final 18 holes at 78 for the day. He helped Babson to a 14th team finish out of 39 New England Colleges. He was selected to the All-New England Team after placing sixth among all Division III competitors.

Eger and Pianki Nab NECC Honors

ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Babson College junior Bryan Eger (Marion, Mass.) was named the 2009 NECC Player of the Year for his medalist honors in the 2009 NECC Men’s Golf Championships this past weekend. Eger shot a 149 (+7 over par) for a 70 first round and a 79 second round score despite extremely windy conditions. Eger led the Beavers to their first-ever NECC Championship title in their first season of competition.
