Savvoulides and Choate Earn Field Hockey Player and Rookie of the Week Awards

PLAYER OF THE WEEK — Wheelock College sophomore forward Despina Savvoulides (Norwalk, Conn.) led the Wildcats to two key NECC victories, including a 2-1 victory over two-time defending conference champions Becker in overtime action and a 3-1 win over Elms. Savvoulides netted the game winner in the 97^th minute of play over Becker. For the week, she had two goals for four points.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK — Bay Path freshman defender Ruth Choate (Lewiston, Maine) notched her first collegiate goal and added an assist in a 4-3 victory over Rivier. The goal would prove to be the game winner. The Wildcats went 1-1 on the week, falling 3-0 to NECC opponent Becker. For the week, Choate had three points.
