Hawks and Eagles Fly Away with Weekly Field Hockey Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK -Becker College sophomore forward Victoria Sirchia (Goshen, Conn.) led the Hawks to a 7-1 victory over Bay Path in conference play. Sirchia tallied a hat-trick against the Wildcats while also chipping in an assist for seven points. The Hawks clinched the regular season top honors finishing 8-0 in NECC play; they will head into the 2009 Championships with the top seeded spot.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK -Daniel Webster College freshman midfielder Maeghan Farrelly (Jamestown, R.I.) helped the Eagles to a 1-1 week in a tough 2-1 loss against Lasell and shutting down NECC opponent Elms 4-0. Farrelly notched her first two collegiate goals pacing the Eagles past the Blazers. She finished the week with four points.
