Ross and Sirchia Named NECC Field Hockey Player and Rookie of the Week

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Wheelock College sophomore defender Michaela Ross (Mansfield, Mass.) led her team to their first overall and conference win in 2008 with a 5-0 shut-out over NECC opponent Bay Path. The Wildcats went 1-1 on the week. Ross and her backline kept Bay Path to no shots on goal for the entire 70 minutes of play.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Freshman forward Victoria Sirchia (Goshen, Conn.) chipped in four points on the week for the Hawks. In their sole win, the Hawks defeated NECC opponent Elms 3-0 with Sirchia netting two of the three goals. Becker went 1-2 on the week, falling to Clark and Salem State.
