Brown, Chapman and Marstaller Share Weekly Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Daniel Webster College junior infielder Bruce Brown (Lowell, Mass.) led the Eagles to a perfect 5-0 week including a conference sweep of Newbury going 10-2, 6-3 and 14-10. The Eagles also defeated Norwich 10-2 and Emerson 12-5 en route to a Daniel Webster record for most wins at 10 in a single season.  Brown batted a solid .588 (10-for-17) with four multiple hit games. He had two doubles, one triple and two homeruns. Brown also notched ten runs and seven RBI, while going a perfect 8-for-8 in stolen bases.  For the week, Brown slugged 1.176 and finished with a .650 on-base percentage.

 

 

 

PITCHER OF THE WEEK – Mitchell College senior pitcher Jeremy Chapman (Waterford, Conn.) tossed a complete game shut-out for the Mariners, allowing five hits, in a 4-0 victory over Southern Vermont. Chapman fanned a career-high 15 batters, while walking only four Mountaineers. Chapman notched a 0.00 ERA for the week.

 

 

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK – Daniel Webster freshman centerfielder Darrik Marstaller (Spofford, N.H.) batted .500 (11-for-22) en route to a 5-0 week including a conference sweep of Newbury going 10-2, 6-3 and 14-10. Marstaller hit safely in all five games, including going 4-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI in a 6-3 win over the Nighthawks. He finished the week with a .909 slugging percentage, a .522 on-base percentage and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. Kilgore also went 5-for-6 in stolen bases.
