2010 NECC Baseball Championship Pairings Announced

UPDATE: NASHUA, N.H.-Due to the weather forecast for the Nashua area for Saturday, May 8th of 80% chance of rain. The decision has been made to adjust the tournament schedule by one day. The 2010 New England Collegiate Conference Championships will begin on Friday, May 7th with game one beginning at a 10:00 a.m. first pitch.

2010 NECC BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE
Quarterfinals • Friday, May 7
Game 1- #4 Southern Vermont (12-20, 6-9) at #1 Daniel Webster (18-14, 11-4), 10:00 a.m.
Game 2- #3 Becker (13-16, 9-6) vs. #2 Mitchell (15-12, 10-5), 1:00 p.m.
Game 3-Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2, 4:00 a.m.

Semifinals • Saturday, May 8 (IF PLAY ON SATURDAY)
Game 4-Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2, 10:00 a.m.
Game 5- Winner of Game 3 vs. Loser of Game 4, 3:00 p.m.

Semifinals and Championship Game • Sunday, May 9 (IF PLAY ON SUNDAY)
Game 4-Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2, 10:00 a.m.
Game 5- Winner of Game 3 vs. Loser of Game 4, 1:00 p.m.
Game 6-Winner of Game 4 vs. Winner of game 5, 4:00 p.m.

2010 NECC All-Conference

 

ORIGINAL RELEASE: ATTLEBORO, Mass.—Daniel Webster College has claimed the top seed for the 2010 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Baseball Championship, which begins the morning of Friday, May 7 in Nashua, N.H.  The Eagles (18-14 overall) earned the top spot in the upcoming NECC tournament after posting an 11-4 conference record. 

Mitchell College (15-12 overall) claimed the #2 seed going 10-5 in conference play, while Becker College (13-16, 9-6) will be the #3 seed.

Southern Vermont College (12-20, 6-9) has claimed the #4 and final seed. 

In quarterfinal action on Friday, May 7  #4 Southern Vermont will face #1 Daniel Webster at a 11:00 a.m. in game one, while #3 Becker will face #2 Mitchell at 3:00 p.m. in game two.

In Saturday’s semifinals, the losing team from game one and the losing team from game two will meet at 10:00 a.m. in game three. Game four will see the winners of game one and game two at 1:00 p.m. Game five will have the winner of game three playing the losing team from game four at 4:00 p.m.

Sunday’s action will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the winner of game four facing the winner of game five in game six for the championship title. If an upset occurs, there will be a game seven involving both teams scheduled at 3:00 p.m.
