BENNINGTON, Vt. - In day two of the New England Collegiate Conference Baseball Playoffs the #2 Elms College Blazers rolled past the #4 Mitchell College Mariners 12-3. Freshman left hander Zach LeBarron (Bennington, Vt.) pitched seven strong innings for the win striking out three and only walking one.
In game one against Mitchell Freshman Brendan Cordeiro (Berkley, Mass.) and freshman Zach Cerra (South Windsor, Conn.) each had three hits for Elms. Freshman Nicolino Iavicoli (Hampden, Mass.), sophomore Albert Betances (Haverhill, Mass.), and Cerra each had two RBI for the Blazers. Betances and Cerra each knocked home runs in the victory.
Sophomore John McGarry (Waterford, Conn.) led the Mariners offensively going 3-for-4 with an RBI. Juniors Matthew Radke (Terryville, Conn.) and Andrew Langlais (Ledyard, Conn.) each had two hits and an RBI as Mitchell College is sent home with this being its second loss in the tourney.

In day two of the New England Collegiate Conference Baseball Playoffs the #3 Becker College Hawks beat the #1 Southern Vermont College Mountaineers knocking 17 hits in the 11-4 victory at Epstein Field.
Freshman Pierce Onthank (Fairfield, Conn.) pitched a complete game for the Hawks striking out seven and walking three. Sophomore Adam Northup (Richmond, R.I.) pitched a strong six and two thirds striking out two and only walking two.
Northup went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run scored from the plate. Sophomore captain Dan Cook (Watervliet, N.Y.) went 2-for-4 and scored twice for SVC.

Baseball Playoffs 2 Elms College Blazers slid past the #1 Southern
Vermont College Mountaineers 10-8 advancing to the NECC
Championship against the Becker College Hawks Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
Freshman Brendan Cordeiro (Berkley, Mass.) went 4-for-6 with two runs scored and two runs. Junior Mike Bieber (Wading River, NY.) got the win on the mound for the Blazers striking out seven in five innings of work.
Sophomore Adam Northup (Richmond, R.I.) posted solid numbers for the Mountaineers going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one run scored. Freshmen Keith Diotte (Cambridge, N.Y.) and Eric Wells (Athens, Pa.) both had two hits and scored three runs between the two of them. Wells also added two RBI for the Mountaineers as their season comes to a close.
