NECC Names Robb Modica Assistant Commissioner

New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Commissioner Del Malloy announced the hiring today of Robb Modica as the Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations.  Modica assumed his duties with the conference on August 8th.

Modica will assist Commissioner Malloy with all aspects of NECC public relations and sports information. His primary functions will be maintaining the conference website, working with member institutions on the publicity of student-athletes and teams, coordination of the Conference weekly and post-season honors programs in addition to compilation of conference statistics and publicity of the NECC championships.

"I am extremely pleased that Robb has decided to join the NECC," said Commissioner Malloy. "His wealth of knowledge and experience in Division III gives him a good feel for the role of the conference office and how it can impact the experience of student-athletes and coaches."

Born and raised in Tucson, AZ, Modica graduated from the University of Arizona and received his Masters Degree in Sport Management from Springfield College. He has spent 10 years working in Division III conference offices, the last six as the Sports Communication Coordinator for the North Atlantic Conference (NAC).

Between 2002 and 2005, Modica was the Assistant Director for Conference Operations with the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). Modica currently serves as the Sports Communication Coordinator for the New England Women's Lacrosse Alliance (NEWLA) and Eastern Collegiate Football Conference (ECFC).
