Regis tabs Chris Barroso as Sports Information Director
WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College Athletics Department proudly announced that they have hired Chris Barroso to be the Sports Information Director for their 16 varsity sports for the 2010-2011 academic year. Barroso worked previously as a member of the Statistics and Analysis Team at ESPN as well as the Sports Information Assistant at Endicott College.
“We are very pleased to have Chris Barroso join the Regis family,” said Assistant Athletic Director Mark Clemente. “He brings tremendous energy and joy towards promoting the Regis student-athlete, and will take pride in transitioning the department into its new challenge of joining the New England Collegiate Conference. Chris has demonstrated a record of diligence and his reputation brings tremendous promise towards maximizing the success of the Regis Athletics Program.”
Barroso joins the Regis College staff after spending the last year as a part of the Statistics and Analysis team at ESPN where he provided production coverage for all of the major collegiate and professional sports including the NFL, NBA, and NHL. Prior to his time at ESPN, Barroso spent two years as the Sports Information Assistant at Endicott College where he helped cover all 22 varsity and club sports for the college. A native of Blackstone, Mass., Chris is a 2008 graduate of Nichols College where he earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration specializing in Sports Management.
“I am very excited to be joining the Regis College athletics staff,” said Barroso. “The athletics program is prepared to take the next step in the new conference and I look forward to helping improve on an already high-quality athletics department.”
