Gould Named New Athletic Director at Newbury

BROOKLINE, MASS. – Jessica Gould, Assistant Director of Athletics at Regis College, has been selected as the next Director of Athletics at Newbury College.  Gould will oversee the 13 intercollegiate varsity athletic programs and the approximately 130 student-athletes who complete at the NCAA Division III level.  She will assume her new role at Newbury on Wednesday, May 19th.

At Regis College, Ms. Gould supervises the part-time coaching staff, oversees operations of athletic facilities, assures NCAA compliance and is responsible for game scheduling.  Prior to her position at Regis, she served as Assistant Vice President of Sports Management for the Special Olympics of Massachusetts.  Additional experience includes high-school teaching and coaching along with extensive programming and event management. 

Paul Martin, Vice President of Student Affairs at Newbury College, states that "Jessica is an excellent addition to the Newbury College Community.  She brings administrative experience in collegiate athletics and management experience in from outside the field.  Gould possesses a great passion for intercollegiate athletics and truly embraces the Division III philosophy.  Jessica is driven to improve the lives and experience of Newbury's student-athletes."

Ms. Gould earned her Bachelor of Humanities and Fine Arts in Journalism at the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she was a varsity athlete in both field hockey and basketball.  She also earned her Masters of Science in Education – Sport Management degree from Springfield College.

Newbury College fields 13 varsity athletic teams and is a Division III member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC), New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) and the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA).
