Haggerty and Martinez Chosen Men's Soccer Player and Rookie of the Week

 PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- Southern Vermont freshman forward Nick Haggerty (Wynantskill, N.Y.) played a huge role in a 2-0 week for the Mountaineers.  For the week, Haggerty tallied ten points scoring four goals and adding two assists in the team's two victories. Haggerty netted both game winning goals including a tough 3-2 win against Green Mountain and the second goal and eventual winning shot in a victory against Word of Life 5-1.

 

 

 

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK --Newcomer sophomore midfielder Tony Martinez (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.) added seven points to the 2-0 week for the Southern Vermont Mountaineers. Martinez helped his team grab their first two victories on the season chipping in three goals and one assist. He scored the Mountaineers first goal on the season in a 3-2 win against local rival Green Mountain. These wins are the first time since 2002 since Southern Vermont has taken back-to-back victories.
