15 Newbury Fall Student-Athletes Named NECC Academic All-Conference
A total of 15 Newbury College student-athletes were amongst the 171 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) student-athletes named NECC Academic All-Conference for the 2011 fall semester, Wednesday afternoon.

Nighthawks Strong Second Half Effort Falls Short
The Newbury College men?s basketball team fell to Wheelock College on the road, 76-56, in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action, Tuesday evening. Sophomore guard Steve Rosemond (Everett, Mass.) was five-for-nine from beyond the arc for a team-high 21 points however they were unable to contain Wildcat senior guard Max Kaim (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) who dropped a game-high 22 points on the Nighthawks.

Marsh Leads Nighthawks to Victory Over Wildcats
The Newbury College women?s basketball team pushed their win streak to three games with a convincing, 65-45 victory over Wheelock College to sweep the season series. First year guard Nephie Marsh (Brockton, Mass.) came off the bench and led three Nighthawks in double figures, dropping a game-high 18 points on the Wildcats en route to the victory.

O'Connell Grabs National Attention
For the second time this season and third time in her career, junior center Catherine O?Connell (Quincy, Mass.) has been selected to the D3Hoops Team of the Week. The South Shore native earned the honors for a second time this season after having a monstrous week averaging 15.5 points per game and 19.0 rebounds per game to help guide Newbury to a 2-0 week.

O’Connell Grabs NECC Accolades for Third Time
For the third time this season, junior center Catherine O?Connell (Quincy, Mass.) earned New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week honors. Averaging 15.5 points per game and 19.0 rebounds per game, the South Shore native helped the Nighthawks to a 2-0 week which included their first victory over Elms College on Saturday February 4th.

Extra Time Needed for Nighthawks First Victory over Blazers
The Newbury College men?s basketball team completed the come-back, defeating visiting Elms College in overtime, 75-74, Saturday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action. Sophomore guard Eric Watson (New Rochelle, N.Y.) led four in double figures netting a team-high 19 points en route to the Nighthawks first victory in program history over the Blazers.

O'Connell Enjoys Monster Day as Nighthawks Upset Second Place Blazers
The Newbury College women?s basketball team did something that they have never done in program history Saturday afternoon: defeat Elms College and snap their seven game win streak in the process. Junior center Catherine O?Connell (Quincy, Mass.) had a monster day notching a team-high 18 points while ripping down 20 boards in the victory in the Nighthawks? 77-63 victory over the Blazers.
