Devona Earns First Weekly Tennis Honors

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Mitchell College sophomore Rocco Devona (Waterford, Conn.) earned the first Player of the Week honors for the 2011 season. Devona was undefeated on the week with a 6-0 record at both the #1 singles and #1 doubles positions. Devona and the Mariners went 2-1 defeating NECC opponent Newbury 9-0 and Albertus Magnus 9-0, while succumbing to their first upset ever in conference action 5-4 to Lesley where he downed David Newton 6-1, 6-2.  Devona teamed with Tyler Engleberg to win the doubles matches 8-0, 8-1 and 8-4 for the week.
