Eger and Pianki Nab NECC Honors

GOLFER OF THE WEEK - Babson College junior Bryan Eger (Marion, Mass.) was named the 2009 NECC Player of the Year for his medalist honors in the 2009 NECC Men's Golf Championships this past weekend. Eger shot a 149 (+7 over par) for a 70 first round and a 79 second round score despite extremely windy conditions. Eger led the Beavers to their first-ever NECC Championship title in their first season of competition.

 

 

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK -For the second straight week, Elms College freshman Dave Pianki (West Suffield, Conn.) earned rookie honors. Pianki earned medalist honors in the Mitchell Tri-Match with a one round 82, while breaking the top ten to make the 2009 NECC All-Conference team tying for 8th place with two other freshmen. Despite the three way tie for Rookie of the Year honors, Pianki was one stroke shy of the honors shooting a five on the 6th hole. He shot 79-84=163 at the 2009 NECC Men's Golf Championships.
