SAAC Answers the Call To Those In Need

CHICOPEE, Mass. - Elms College's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently helped lead a food drive to help those in need locally.

Student athletes from all 15 teams, as well as faculty, staff and fitness center members all contributed to the successful effort, which collected more than 60 boxes of non-persishable food items.

"This was a wonderful effort by everyone involved, especially our student athletes," Elms College Assistant Athletic Director and SAAC Advisor Laura Habacker said. "It is nice to know our campus community understands the importance of helping those less fortunate, especially in these tough economic times."

All items from the collection will be donated directly to local food pantries in the greater Chicopee-Springfield area.
