Mitchell College SAAC Lends a Hand in Community Restoration

NEW LONDON, Conn.--The members of the Mitchell College student athlete advisory committee have been hard at work cleaning up run down basketball courts close to the Mitchell College campus.  Student athletes joined with members of residence life on a mission to restore this facility and create a place where Mitchell College students and members of the local community can gather to participate in outdoor basketball and other activities.

Along with the aesthetic cleaning including scraping, sweeping and removal of debris from the surrounding  area, student-athletes will re-paint basketball poles and backboards and replace the old netting.  In addition, they will transport picnic tables and work with the facilities crew as they clean up this area that has become a "dumping ground" for various items.
